And if you're married to a gardener, that could become a real problem. You'll never be able to look a gardener in the eye again. And definitely don't cover it with another block or water, or the grass will die. You can't craft more, only spread it to dirt blocks. But if you ever find yourself in a situation where you only have one grass block left (how the heck did you manage that?!), then guard it carefully. Most biomes will spawn at least a little grass when the map is first generated. You probably don't need me to tell you where to get grass from, because it spawns almost everywhere in the overworld. Grass is probably Minecraft's most iconic block (suck it, Mycelium!) Along with cobblestone, it was one of the first two blocks in the game. Me? Discover the variations and interpretations of the story, and how it relates to the themes of hubris, overreaching and the dangers of wax. Overall, both the source analysis and webpage have further increased my interest in the fall of Icarus and in Greek mythology. Popularity of Icarus: Written by a US veteran and poet, Edward Field, this concise poem Icarus first appeared in 1963. Learn the true meaning and origin of the famous Greek myth of Daedalus and Icarus, who flew too close to the sun and died. Characters such as Heracles, Artemis, and Pasiphae are all seen in other depictions of the myth, showing both how different authors saw Greek myth in different ways, and how well-connected Greek mythology is. Not only did these primary sources help with my discussion of the myth, but they also furthered my interest in Daedalus and Icarus because of the many different heroes and gods who are connected to the myth but do not appear in Ovid’s version. There were also many different primary sources to use, as there are 3-4 different versions of the myths that all have different details, as well as some art pieces depicting Daedalus and Icarus from before Ovid’s version. The overall number of secondary sources helped me refine my outline and allowed me to easily form a well-supported argument that flowed well. Finally, I knew the lack of sourced material in in the article would allow for me to improve the discussion just by citing my own work to strengthen to my argument.īecause the myth is so popular, I found plenty of secondary sources that fit what I wanted to write about, as well as many more that did not quite fit but were well written. I also felt that Icarus’s death was overlooked, not even being mentioned other than how he fell from the sky in the myth’s summary. I found the site’s flow confusing, as it seemed to spend a lot of time examining the myth’s backstory and then quickly rush through the summary and theme without giving those parts the same amount of discussion. I eventually settled on “The Tragic Story of the Fall of Icarus” by Gabi Ancarola on the Greek Reporter website because I felt it had a decent discussion of the myth and lots of good information but that it could also be improved on. ![]() When looking for sources on this myth, I had a hard time finding one that I thought would work, as I was not quite sure what to look for. The myth of Daedalus and Icarus is my favourite Greek myth, and I knew immediately when I saw we were doing this project that it was the myth I wanted to use. ![]() You can still play either on the side of the Arabs or the Europeans. You’re still offered the same four historical campaigns and 100 or so unique skirmish missions. Other than these additions, however, there’s actually not much of a change in Extreme when you compare it to Crusader. It’s primarily the expanded version of Crusader, as it adds new AI opponents, maps, buildings, special Tactical Powers, and increases the unit cap of 1,000 troops to a staggering 10,000. However, these were eventually added when Stronghold: Crusader Extreme was released. It’s known as Stronghold Warchest in certain countries and had added new characters and another Crusader Trail to tackle. ![]() What's the difference between Stronghold Crusader and Extreme?īeing one of the more well-received Stronghold games, Stronghold Crusader was given several updates. However, it came back to its roots with the next several installments: Stronghold 3, Stronghold Crusader II, and Stronghold: Warlords-although none of them really beat the solid gameplay of the first ones. Surprisingly, the series tries the path of a free-to-play MMO-style game with Stronghold Kingdoms. The next game released was Stronghold: Crusader Extreme, which was basically Crusader but has extra content. The fourth game was Stronghold Legends and adds the new mechanic of controlling both human and mythical armies. It offered 3D graphics and the addition of new gameplay mechanics such as crime and punishment. After this game came the confusingly titled Stronghold 2. Here, there are four separate but linear campaigns to go through and lets you choose whether to play as a European king or as an Arabic lord. The first was Stronghold Crusader, which was set in the Middle East during the Crusades and brought in enhanced RTS elements. It became highly successful and spawned numerous sequels, as well as HD versions of some of the games. Set in the Middle Ages in England, you have to manage both the military and economic sides of your nation-all the while surviving scenarios such as fires and invasions and conquering other lands. So, expect to farm or push lanes with all of your might.Stronghold is a 2001 historic real-time strategy game developed by Firefly Studios, wherein you expand your kingdom through military pursuits. The touchpad controls have a seamless gameplay experience with certain customization options such as auto-aiming, last-hitting, and more to aid navigation. Since you must be able to hit back as well, strategies are accelerated (they actually happen quite often). That isn't to suggest there isn't any strategy in Bang Bang, or that everybody just jumps in and starts smashing and shooting. The maps are smaller, the roles and gameplay are streamlined, and a match lasts up to 30 minutes. Laning, juggling, item builds, hero roles, hero abilities, skins, and more are all available, much like its PC counterparts, League of Legends or SMITE.
